Many men want thicker, stronger hair but make small daily mistakes that weaken it. Here are the most common issues we see at our barbershop in Lublin and quick ways to fix them.

1. Washing daily with a harsh shampoo

Strong detergents strip natural sebum. The scalp overcompensates – hair gets oily faster.

Fix: wash every 2–3 days with a gentle shampoo; after the gym, rinse with water.

2. Not drying your hair

Going to bed with wet hair can seriously harm scalp and hair condition. A humid environment disrupts the natural balance and encourages mites and other microorganisms to thrive, which can cause irritation, itching and dandruff.

Also, skipping the blow‑dryer makes hair more prone to breakage and frizz, while the scalp loses its protective barrier. Used properly with the right products, a blow‑dryer removes moisture fast while protecting structure. After washing:

  • use a light conditioner regularly
  • dry on a warm, not hot setting
  • avoid overdrying with excessive heat and time

Fix: conditioner regularly, a mask weekly for longer hair, and a gentle blow‑dry.

3. Misusing styling products

If you don't warm up pomade in your hands first or apply it too fast, you may get clumps that weigh hair down. Same with pre‑styler: if you don't dry afterward, you'll lose volume and add grease.

Fix: start with a small amount, warm in hands, apply evenly.

4. No heat protection

Hot air damages hair structure, causing breakage.

Fix: heat‑protect spray before drying; finish with a cool blast.

5. Haircuts too far apart

Split ends and a loss of shape reduce aesthetics.

Fix: see your barber in Lublin every 6–8 weeks (or more often for short cuts).

6. Random products

Cheap products may contain silicones and parabens that build up over time.

Fix: choose products for your hair type – consult during a visit.

7. Ignoring the scalp

Itching and dandruff are warning signs.

Fix: gentle exfoliation every few weeks and hydration. Consult a professional if issues persist.

8. Towel rubbing

Wet hair is vulnerable to damage.

Fix: pat dry or use a cotton T‑shirt.
